SCP’s Spring Premier Auction Showcases Sports Memorabilia

SCP Auctions is gearing up for its highly anticipated Spring Premier catalog, packed with an impressive array of sports memorabilia that is sure to entice collectors worldwide. One of the standout pieces in this auction is the George Mikan Minneapolis Lakers warmup suit, signed by the legendary basketball player himself. This exclusive item, dating back to the NBA’s early years, boasts both the jacket and pants autographed by Mikan and comes with a certificate of authenticity from Sports Investors Authentication. With an estimated value of over $400,000, this unique outfit is expected to be a hot commodity among bidders.

George Mikan’s presence looms large in the world of basketball collectibles, with game-worn items from his career being highly sought after by enthusiasts. Alongside this iconic warm-up suit, SCP’s auction features a selection of prime vintage baseball cards, including a PSA 7 Mickey Mantle 1951 Bowman rookie card, as well as two 1952 Topps Mantles, a 1963 Topps Mantle SGC 9, and a rare 1933 Goudey #92 Lou Gehrig SGC 9 card, the latter poised to exceed $150,000 in value.

For collectors with a penchant for Pete Rose memorabilia, SCP Auctions is presenting the second-ranked master set of his cards, following on the heels of the top-ranked set sold last autumn. The catalog also includes a range of significant items related to Shohei Ohtani, such as his jersey worn on Jackie Robinson Day in 2023, expected to attract bids in the six-figure range, and the ball from Ohtani’s 200th career home run.

Additional highlights of the auction encompass two pairs of game-worn shoes from the iconic Michael Jordan, a cap worn by Roberto Clemente, a photo-matched jersey belonging to Ronald Acuna Jr., and a jersey signed by Tua Tagovailoa from 2023. High-end jewelry makes an appearance as well, with offerings like a 1957 Mickey Mantle AL MVP award, Olympic gold medals earned by Jim Hines and Oleksandr Abramenko, a 2003 Florida Marlins World Series ring, and a 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers NBA championship ring all up for grabs.

Noteworthy lots in the auction extend to game-worn and signed shoes from Kobe Bryant, a 1957 Mickey Mantle AL MVP trophy, a game-used bat from Ted Williams, a 2023 Bowman Chrome Draft Tom Brady Orange Refractor autograph, a 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson rookie card, a baseball signed by early Hall of Fame inductees and Yankee legends, and historical sports memorabilia dating back to the early 20th century.

With more than 400 lots on offer, the auction commences on Wednesday and runs through Saturday, April 13, providing ample opportunity for enthusiasts to bid on these iconic pieces at SCPAuctions.com. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of sports history!
