Topps Unveils Tom Brady’s Unique Baseball Card in 2023 Bowman Draft

Topps, the renowned trading card company, is set to launch its highly anticipated 2023 Bowman Draft Baseball collection. In an unexpected move, the collection will feature none other than former NFL star Tom Brady. Brady, known for his illustrious football career, also displayed his exceptional talents in multiple sports during his high school days. This collection pays homage to Brady’s baseball potential by showcasing him in a Montreal Expos jersey, commemorating his draft selection by the Expos before choosing football at the University of Michigan.

Among the exciting features of the 2023 Bowman Draft Baseball collection are 81 autographed cards of Tom Brady. To add to the anticipation, Topps plans to release an amusing video soon. Social media teases have already revealed one card that has captured attention. The card depicts Brady with an inscription hinting at his potential career in football if baseball didn’t pan out, injecting a touch of humor into the collection. Additionally, a French inscription pays tribute to Brady’s connection with the Expos.

One of the standout cards in this collection is an autographed card numbered 12/50, symbolizing Brady’s iconic jersey number. This particular card has already generated significant buzz, with a private collector making a jaw-dropping offer of $500,000. Another rare find in this set is a 1-1 SuperFractor auto card, adding to the exclusivity and appeal of the collection.

What sets Brady apart in this collection is his distinction as the last Expos draft pick to retire from professional sports. The Montreal Expos relocated to Washington, D.C., and rebranded as the Nationals after the 2004 season. Brady’s inclusion in this baseball card series not only celebrates his multi-sport talent but also serves as a reminder of a bygone era in the history of the Expos.

For collectors eager to get their hands on the 2023 Bowman Draft, the collection will be available in two formats: Hobby and Jumbo. The Hobby edition will include three autographed cards per box, while the Jumbo edition offers an impressive five autographs. The official release date is scheduled for Tuesday, December 12. However, some lucky collectors may have already stumbled upon boxes ahead of time. Hit Factory Sports Cards in Arizona recently unveiled a non-signed Tom Brady card from the collection. Meanwhile, Brady’s autographed cards have already made their way onto popular online marketplaces like eBay, igniting a frenzy among fans and collectors eager to add them to their collections.

The inclusion of Tom Brady in the 2023 Bowman Draft Baseball collection adds a unique twist to the world of sports trading cards. As fans eagerly await the release of this special edition, the anticipation and excitement continue to grow. With Brady’s legacy sealed in the NFL, his appearance in a baseball card collection serves as a reminder of his remarkable talents and the paths not taken.
